Torrons i Mel
Alemany
Why is the turró of Alemany just so good? (Alright, most of you know about turron from Spain but did you know that in Catalonia it is
called Turró?) In most countries the global economy is present: In Spain it is particularly seen in the form of nuts. The Spanish grow
a lot of almonds and hazelnuts in Catalonia. Unfortunately in the world economy so do the Turks who sell them on the European market at
the same price per kg. as it takes a Spanish farmer to ship his nuts across Spain. Now for a traditional artisane firm like Alemany who
has been in the bee/honey business since the 20's it was only logical that they would look to find local products when they moved into
the turró business as a way to sell more honey. After all, they are a small firm with no huge national distribution dreams so they want
to generate products that match the quality of their honey. SO, they did the logical Catalon thing; they found local Catalon suppliers,
the COSELVA who makes the Antara Olive Oil. This means that not only are the turró (turron) of Alemany Chock Full o' Nuts
(looks to be about 70+%) but these very tasty nuts are from small farmers of the Coselva who are able to maintain the history of their
families through farming. All this and no high fructose corn syrup!!! We carry 5 styles of turró from Alemany. It is FRESH and in STOCK!
